A wish
I wanted to ask your name
Since the moment I saw you,
Walking alone bare feet
On the grass and the morning dew.
I wished I could write
And the words would rhyme;
Perhaps to catch your breath
Like a wind from the chime.
From the ancient Greece, I wished,
I were a sculptor, forgotten and nameless
Carving on the rock to seize
A glimpse of your grace.
Or if I could only paint
And not live to rue,
I didn't capture the color of your tears,
And all its wasted hue.
The juvenile sun promised glory
For the time to come.
But, I stood there motionless
Lost and lonesome.
Perhaps if I could move
To touch you or feel
Your soul covered in nudity,
If only could I peel!
At least if I could speak
To ask your name!
Now the day is gone to wonder.
But, myself, I have no one to blame.

Hey didn't know u write poetry too! You are good at it too. Btw who is this nameless wonder?
I wrote poetry in Bengali. This, in a way, is my first attempt in English. There is no one in particular behind the nameless wonder. But, I am glad you liked it.

That is a beautiful poem, N. I love the part about capturing the color of the tears.
Thanks Becstra.
